A need for stock realistic weaponry?

Recommended Posts

This is just one of the entire stockpile I have been creating, of realistic looking, functional and well engineered munitions.

Tell me if you would like to see more of these air launched munitions!

The B1 [bomb model 1] GP [General Purpose] 2500kg Munition, B1 GP 2500kg

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, the plane is carrying 10tons of munitions!

This looks awesome, but an idea would be to add an unmanned core and replace the nosecone with an aviations package, and then add a generator to the plane.

Also, I want the downloads to it and I want to see all of the other weapons you have.

Well I was leaving the 'guided' munitions for another day, not so much because of the technical challenge, but more for the simplicity of use.

Not to mention the warhead technology i'm currently using, is basically just a lot of stacked nose cones that upon impact want to fly in all directions thus making for a greater destructive effect. This means that the guided munitions will have to either be enormously heavy, or have reduced warhead size.

Currently I have not tested the effect of the 2500kg GP munition on armored targets, but the effect verses unarmored targets is devastating due to the fragmentation effect.

EDIT:

That actually looks really good.

Thank you, it means alot!

Ah ha! I see you've discovered the word 'effect'. Well done, Ser, good show PilotSmiley.GIF

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to the guided munitions being released. This bomb looks pretty swish. Can we have a craft file for the armed plane, or maybe even just a subassembley file for the bomb?

Dude, we are in the same corporation...

A subassembly would be nice. This thing looks awesome as heck though.

Part Count, by chance?

Once I have fully tested all the other munitions, I will release them in a pack, an unguided and guided munition pack. Part count is 27, 8 nosecones make up the warhead. You can expect the pack sometime this week!

How far is it's damaging blast radius?

Now this is something I was testing earlier, and this works like a real free fall munition. If you drop it from higher up, or from a dive, the explosive energy is concentrated in a tighter area allowing this munition to hit very hard. However once I dropped this at high speed and very low altitude >100m, the bomb as it exploded was strewn out over a long slightly expanding column, thus making it devastating against a much wider area. I am yet unable to give you any accurate figures on this yet.

In summary, this truly is a General Purpose munition!

Any eta of when you'll have the .craft file for download?

Sorry, I have been very busy lately. I will probably get something ready to release soon, but I can't guarantee anything as alot of collage work has come up for me recently... :(
