The Munar Mobile Laboratory (27.5T Rover)

Hi there KSP Forums!

One day I got frustrated with rovers. They were too small, too ungainly, and way too easy to flip over. So I sat down and made the Munar Mobile Laboratory or MML for short! As you can see, it's a pretty big rover, weighing in at exactly 27.5 tons according to MechJeb. She's completely stock except for one solitary MechJeb case (will have both Jeb and NonJeb versions below available for download).

The thing handles really well on most surfaces (go ahead, drive it around the launch pad on it's own and see for yourself!) and drives well in low gravity as well. I don't have a huge amount of experience in KSP, but I have been to the Mun, Minmus, and the atmosphere of Eve in my Kerbonautics career.

Here's the MML in the vehicle assembly building:

Now, you've got to think that having no less than 24 wheels to power just to get around would be a major problem. Luckily, the MML is equipped with a few solar panels:

Okay, maybe more than just a few. With them all in direct sunlight, the batteries charge at around 95/sec or so not including the radioisotope generators (one Kerbin Engineer later referred to this statement as "redonculous").

Sweet Rove Parties

And for those of you who love to go to sweet night-time rove parties on the moon (or sun, who's judging?) the MML comes with a 3,400 charge capacity.

Breaking the Lag Barrier

I also included my rocket capable of getting the MML to the Mun. As of yet I've failed to get it any farther (I'm looking at you, Minmus!). Or any other planets so far. Maybe some of you can get it to planets its never been to before and post pictures? On launch it's kind of laggy for being around 400 parts, but once you break the "Lag Barrier", it's smooth sailing.

The MML acts as its own skycrane, with plenty of fuel (about 1079 delta-v's worth), and lets you use the liquid rocket engines as jump jets for impassable terrain, or just when you want to fly a rover around.

It also comes with a docking port on top for those of you who like docking things. Who doesn't?

Let me know what you guys think! And show me where you can take it in the posts below :P

Mission Success!

The original saves include MechJeb. For those of you don't have it, it's fantastic and can be found here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/mechjeb/

For those of you who don't, I included the saves with "2" denoting no MechJeb onboard.
