Create your own planet?

Is there any way I can create my own planet? Atmosphere, mountains, gravity, etc.

You can't, closest you can do is using Hyperedit to move around existing planets.

A couple tried before the forum-pocalypse but none succeeded, it is a lot of work for little enough reward.

I recall Nova saying no because it would require giving people access to the PQS terrain system, and therefore the game's source code.

Similar to this, I am wondering if it would be possible to alter a planet's trajectory.

I'm just thinking that with enough rockets and resources, it would be entirely possible to deorbit an entire planet. This is of course, assuming that the planets have their own trajectory that can be altered, rather than having a fixed orbit.

I would love to see a Futurama-esque endeavour to move Minmus further from the sun in order to cool the planet.

This, sadly, is not possible. The planets are on fixed orbits ("on rails"), and will not respond to thrust, no matter how much you apply to them. However, Nova said recently that when asteroids are added, they will be movable

Ah, sounds good.

I would very much like to create my own asteroid colony with tubes connecting everywhere, but the control of it would be a nightmare.

Being able to add your own planets would be nice as well.
