Sunday punch challenge!

Recommended Posts

What is the highest altitude you can reach using just the KSP-5 engines that come in the Sunday punch pack, and the LT-20, LT-21, LT-30, LT-31, QS-80 decouplers , the SP-81C Quad-coupler and a parachute?

NOTE: This challenge requires the sunday punch pack: [glow=blue,2,300]http://www.kerbalspacerepository.com/tag/sunday-punch/[/glow]

Post screenshots of the flight results showing your highest altitude here.

NOTE: Your kerbals don\'t have to make it back alive.

EDIT: You can use an unlimited number of parts.

Put them in separate categories: struts and no struts. IIRC I hit something like 18k last night with no struts, orbit is doable I think (and if you can get orbit, escape velocity can\'t be far behind!), but I was distracted by shiny things before I completed the build.

and adding one more layer of boosters does almost nothing but get me past the tower, and bog down the computer. My high is 18699 when the speed hit 0. I might be able to tweak it a bit and get rid of some of the pieces (especially if I broke down and started using struts) but I doubt I\'d get much more altitude out of it.

I maanaged to get 21km but wasnt able to screenshot as Im in the development phase at the moment, Im running into some major controllability issues thanks to not being allowed to use fins :( If I can have fins I reckon I can make orbit.
