Penguin Class Mobile Gantry Crane

Ever wanted to build a surface base but don't want to deal with putting wheels on every single module? Ever want to be able to stack modules on top of each other but you just can't reach? Well here is my solution to that problem. I give you the Penguin Class Mobile Gantry Crane. To start out, the mods I have installed are the following:

- ISA MapSat 3.3.4

- Kerbal Attachment System 0.3.1

MapSat isn't required but the craft file does have a GPS locator on it. Speaking of the craft file: http://www./download/mqof3e2s0k59qvc/Penguin_Mobile_Gantry_Crane.craft

Anyway here are the pics. (sorry about the desktop in the background. I play on my Mac side and ever since the 0.2.0 update I've problems with full screen)

FYI, this thing is REALLY heavy!

Refueling at my orbital station for the trip to the Mun. The current version of the ship doesn't need to refuel. The main problem was a lack of MonoProp

Unfortunately I still haven't successfully landed it. I will post pics when I do though. I will also post some pics of it working.

Ugh...total fail. Everything went great up until I went to go for my landing. When I started my burn to enter a landing trajectory it just started spinning out of control. Anyone have any suggestions for a better way to land this thing? I figured that having the landing engines on top would avoid any stability issues. Apparently I was either wrong or this thing is more unstable than I realized. Help?

Looks good, but just so you know, you can take screenshots with F1. Or on mac hold fn then press F1

Success! I finally got this massive contraption down to the surface and it works great. It is a bit tough to work with only one kerbal though. The parts it is moving around right now are for my modular base design I am working on.
