Modifying Parts.cfg files.

Recommended Posts

Okay so i saw a tutorial on modiying CFG files but my issue is id like to create a fuel tank of any kind that has a much larger resource level so i can have fun in space.

I took the robomax x200-8 copied its folder and changed its name and its resources to 10000 each just to test it out. When i pick the part it says 10000 but when i go to the launch the part only has the original parts default resource levels. How can i fix this.

It would be easier to just press alt+ f12 and press "infinite fuel" for this type of thing! By increasing the volume of your containers don't forget that each unit of fuel has mass. A jumbo 64 tank with 2880 liquid fuel has a mass of 36 tonnes. If you raised your liquid fuel and oxidizer to 10k your mass would be in the 100 tonne range, which adds to launching woes if you just wanted quick and dirty space fun!

Also, with infinite fuel turned on you don't actually need fuel tanks to fuel the engines, they just work.

It's loading the original part, if you want a duplicate then you need to change the name in the config file (only in the part section, not in the module sections).
