Space (Kerbin?) Oddity remake - Sound work

Hi !

So, you might have recently heard of Hadfield singing some Bowie in the ISS ... I've got an idea: make a tribute of it.

Starting from a simple MIDI file (needed to work on it, but it saved me lots of time) and an acapella version, I got this piece of music - a style I am not used to compose.

So, here it is: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/98670603/Sounds/SpaceOddityFinal.mp3

The idea: make a "kerbal" version

We can together do some changes to the original lyrics to make it fit into the Kerbal world. And if someone can sing it for us, that way I could put it with the music, and make us an anthem... kinda...

So, you can find the original lyrics here for example: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/david+bowie/space+oddity_20036711.html

And here is my personal "kerbalized" version:

Ground control to major Tom

Ground control to major Tom

Close your capsule hatch and put your helmet on

(Ten) Ground control (Nine) to major Tom (Eight)

(Seven, six) Commencing countdown (Five), engines on (Four)

(Three, two) Check ignition (One) and may gods (Blastoff) love be with you

This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade

And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear

Now it's time to EVA if you dare

This is major Tom to ground control, I'm stepping through the door

And I'm floating in a most peculiar way

And the stars look very different today

Here am I sitting in a tin can far above the world

Kerbin is blue and there's nothing I can do

Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still

And I think my rocket knows which way to go

Tell my wife I love her very much, she knows

Ground control to major Tom, your circuits dead, there's something wrong

Can you hear me, major Tom?

Can you hear me, major Tom?

Can you hear me, major Tom?

Can you...

Here am I sitting in my tin can far above the Mün

Kerbin is blue and there's nothing left to do

FL Studio 11 users

Here is the project, you will have to install the GSnap VST (replacement of Pitcher, free of course) in order to open it.

Don't extract the zip, just open with FL Studio: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/98670603/Sounds/SpaceOddityFinal.zip

For singers

A "No Voice" version to take your hands on, if you want to work on the vocals: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/98670603/Sounds/SpaceOddityNoVoice.mp3
