[1.1.3] Large Structural Components [24th August 2016]

Recommended Posts

Hi lethal, just a quick issue that may or may not be easily resolvable...

The two new modules, the lobby/factory thingy... if you take a small light from B9 Aerospace r3 pack (which more or less everyone uses), and radially attach them, they sit "inside" the model although still work. IE, once you place them down you can never click them again.

Thoughts?

Well, my first thought was to check my collision meshes... which as you can see, seem fine to me. So, I'm not sure what the issue is, I'll have a look at the B9 Pack later today.

Hey, while we're on the subject of lights, is there any chance you can just integrate distributed light spots around each of your modules? They'll just turn on much like the station windows. This way part count is decreased significantly and in turn performance improved for large stations.

A nice as this is, it would be a large task. I'd need to go through each model, adjust each animation, re-compile, etc.

Wow, awesome, gonna try these parts. :)

Normally I create reasonably normal stations with this pack, but the new Lean modules made this Interplanetary Passenger Liner impossible not to make.

There is a problem with your spherical tanks they do not allow any lights or structural objects like landing legs or cubical octagional struts

to be attached is that by design or is it a bug

They do not allow objects to be attached other than onto the defined nodes, this is by design.

*sigh* I hate to sound thick, but I can't seem to understand how the structural tabs are supposed to work. I know I'll kick myself once it's clear, but I would appreciate a bit of guidance. Thanks!

Docking Sr's are crap in general. Use Quad or tri coupler regular docking ports and some patience to get them all to hook together in space (may require a LOT of launches)... or alternatively modify the fuel tank part.cfg so it has no fuel in it and is a whole lot lighter (and easier to launch).... which is what I do.

Also you really don't need quantum struts with the tabs. The tabs are amazing with normal struts.
