Hi there,

I\'ve been playing KSP for some weeks now, and I\'m still surprised at how much fun it is :)

I also am quite surprised than such a geek like me knows so little about orbital dynamics - so it\'s a kind of learning experience for me as well. Anyways, waiting for the Mun, and pleased to meet you all!

Cheers,

sarkun

I have no troubles achieving orbits right now (screenshot to prove it attached ;-) ).

I am however wondering what is the most efficient way of reaching a stable, near circular orbit?

Right now i blast off from Kerbal Space Center straight up, and when I see I have enough velocity to reach say 100km I aim my rocket at the horizon and keep blasting until periapsis is raised above atmosphere. Then i do a small retroburn at the periapsis to lower the apo to similar level as periapsis.

Is there a better way to do it?

I think 3 fuel tanks and an engine at a 45 degree angle should do it. I never tried it myself but others have.
