Alright, looks good from just looking at it!

Lemme read this bad boy, then I'll do some talking with you 'bout it. :D

Alright, this sounds good for half of a rough draft, of a rough draft.

The one thing is I'm trying to in vision how this would look, could you give me a basic idea of your vision, then I could go draw up a couple models?

The only couple things are some grammar errors and some explanatory errors (which we should take care of later) but overall good work.

PS: If I end up waiting for a reply to my "how does it look?" question for too long, I'll just create what I image it to be. :sticktongue:

First of all i would recommend to start a Forum for the Project (I'm already working on it). It would make it easier for us to communicate and talk about certain topics without scrolling up and down all the time...

I personally don't like the idea of a closed, rotating ring. It's neither easily extensible, nor easy to build. Another Problem is that you can't simply start your engines and fly away, because it would probably be very unstable due to it's width/length ratio.

Imo a much better solution would be to use some kind of compressed dna-ish structure. It would be a double-helix, which consists of inflatable cubic modules, which are connected with gangways to their counterparts on the other side of the helix.

On the end of the structure you could extend it as much as you want, but still maintain artificial gravity by rotating it.

My solution would have another advantage over usual Stanford-Torus constructions, because you would only need to bring small modules into the space.

The biggest disadvantage would be the tubification of the whole station (you would need to take a looooong walk to get from one end of the helix to the other end).

I'll post some sketches and the URL to the Project-forum later this day.

Edit: Ahh, i forgot to ask... A friend of me asked if he could join the project, too?

Edit 2: The forum is online now, you can register and send me your username in a PM here on the KSP forum (to verify the account belongs to you)

1. A forum for this would be great!

2. A rotation ring or some other sort of artificial gravity system would be useful, due to effects of 0 g's on people over time.

3. If we ARE putting electric engines on, I'm pretty sure would we have to work to make sure that it is not A-symetric

4. I like that idea! But I think we would need a couple sketches and more information on it before we decide on it.

5. I'm pretty sure we need all the help we can get. :D But ask NASAfanboy with a private message, or just post it here or whatever. But I'm 90% sure he'd want more people.
