Last stage engine no power

Hello all,

I found this game last week and have been having a blast. I've put the 1st part of a space station in orbit and am now working on meeting and docking with the station. I've built a rocket with several stages that's more than capable, however I've ran into a problem with my last stage in orbit.

Here's my layout when I get into orbit.

Docking port>Pod>SAS>decoupler>fuel tank>LV-T30 engine>decoupler>fuel tank>LV-T30 engine

In this configuration when I get into orbit I still have some fuel left in the last fuel tank, and I use that up modifying my orbit and getting closer to my station. Generally when I drop that stage I'm down to small maneuvers and getting closer to my station. This is where I run into the problem. When I activate the last engine, it doesn't create much thrust. To the point that in a nearly perfect orbit at 120k I'm unable to de-orbit.

Example:

In this configuration I can change my orbit 20k meters with a burn of a couple seconds or less.

Docking port>Pod>SAS>decoupler>fuel tank>LV-T30 engine>decoupler>fuel tank>LV-T30 engine

In this configuration (last engine and tank dropped) to change my orbit 20k it takes a 7 minute burn.

Docking port>Pod>SAS>decoupler>fuel tank>LV-T30 engine.

I thought maybe my saved build was bugged, so I built a new one and it did the same thing. Then I built a completely different design with the same result. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had issuses like this before in previous KSP versions, but not recently. Is your decoupler pointing the right way? Pictures would be nice (use imgur).

Huh... Flipping the decoupler seems to have fixed it. I wasn't aware that you could put one on backwards.

Edit...... Started doing it again.

Looks like it was something with my save-game. I tried several things that didn't change the problem. I finally deleted my save game and started a new game. I've done about 10 flights now without problem.
