My space station may be rather limited...

So I envisioned this space station I was going to build while dreaming last night (I know I am crazy), however, I may have hit a bit of a limitation! While designing I decided to put more than just 2 central station hubs, but the game must not allow you to be able to place them away from the center of the space station! Has anybody else noticed this before? I'll include pics.

Try rotating them so the top is facing the node your attaching them to. It seems it doesn't like attaching on its sides, only on its top or bottom.

Mine does this too with these and the bigger ones from a mod pack. Not that it helps you, just saying it is more than just you.

It worked, that is rather odd!

it's something to do with the node system. I don't really know the details.
