New Processor

Need more specs I'm afraid!

i5 3570K, i5 4670K, etc?

How many GHz?

It's difficult to predict your maximum part count as it depends a little on the rest of your computer specs as well, eg. Graphics card, RAM, and possibly the quality of your Motherboard.

I'm getting a new computer in the next two weeks, and I think it'll be exciting just to test it's limits. I don't want any spoilers ;)

Unity does not use multi-core, so unfortunately you'll only see a marginal increase based on the CPU's clock speed (GHz). It's unfortunate, but Squad can't do anything about it I'm afraid. :/

That not entirely true. The types of calculations that are done in a game like KSP are physics based, meaning they are big in size and repeated often. The bigger cache and a higher clock speed will give the game a considerable boost in speed. KSP is a game that loves high clock speeds.

Ah, that makes more sense.

What socket you are using right now would be some awesome info. Intel chips seem to be good right now for single core performance.

I would be very careful about OC a Haswell chip. Why not hop over to the KSP Computer Building MegaThread?

Not sure what the socket is. :P I'm no computer expert. Didn't know about that thread so cheers. :)
