[Idea] KSP on Television?

It's a nice idea, however, it would be cheaper and better if it was on the internet and not on TV.

And not now too, since kerbal space program still has a long path to go, I mean, they should focus more on the game right now since it's still in alpha state.

"Welcome to Jebediah's "Impact Zone". I'm your host, Jebediah Kerman. Today, the topic is Dres. What's up with that dual tone coloring? Do we even consider something this small a planet? And more importantly, what happens when we send Kerbonians into the regolith at twelve hundred meters per second? Let's find out."

The game doesn't have a big enough following and most likely never will. KSP is a niche product, it will never attract sales like a Mario or a Call of Duty. The general population are just too needy for instant gratification for a game like KSP to ever make it really big.

I'm having a hard time believing KSP is a niche product. Maybe closer to the beginning of the first few releases it was, but not so much any more. If we keep up this attitude, KSP won't reach as many people as it should.

Also that last part of your post is a strawman. Of course it won't reach the sales of Mario or Call of Duty. Nothing will. That's not KSP's competition.

Either way, it's really Squad's decision, and I hope they decide to do it.

KSP IS a niche product.

And I have a hard time working out who you want to reach with a KSP TV format. Do you think the target clientele of jersey shore, braindead cooking shows and "scripted reality" shows is interested in watching someone shooting green men into space in a video game?

What percentage of people do you think actively choose to watch a rocket launch (soyuz or whatever) on TV (hint: It starts with 0.). Either you have a very romantic image of TV watching populace or you are severely out of touch with reality.

KSP is a somewhat trendy indie title which has a gigantic appeal to a certain clientele (dad who had to pack his toy trains away because wife got mad, nerdy teenagers, mid-20 hipster gamers, engineers and some more). None of those are particularly interested in TV - maybe except the dad stereotype.

I don't even have a TV anymore, and many of my age also do not. It is a dying product.

That being said: The last installmentof KSP TV was atrocious, showing it to more people would certainly not help ksp.
