Full IVA Landing

Fly a landing mission fully in IVA mode. (press "c" on launchpad/runway)

Pressing "M" and using the map for node planning / burn time is ok, but keep that to a minimum. Stopwatch suggested for burn timing so you aren't watching the map during burns. (No Map= Hard mode)

For this challenge you will need a manned pod. Timewarp is ok. All mods allowed... Flight automation is discouraged, but acceptable to encourage participation. If you find that you must go to 3rd person view for some reason (fuel transfer/ undock node / whatever, you must EVA 1 kerbal to simulate outside operations, you might need to have a probe core onboard if you only use a 1 man pod.)

The winner of this challenge goes to the most impressive screen-capture image (F1 key)...or series of images, or video. Also storyline, and/or witty commentary gets 5 bonus points.

2 winners per land-able planet/ moon. Kerbin prize is reserved for return trips.

I just flew my first ascent to orbit fully IVA.

I'm planning on Minimus landing (Pics soon). It definitely gives the game a different feel.

I did this a while back, full stock, made it to the Mun. And back! Don't have any documentation, though, sorry. I used a cupola module cause it offers the best visibility for burning prograde. I used quicksave (how be this possible without?.. I guess if you're Scott Manley). This was complete IVA, btw. No map mode. AKA Manley Mode

The landing was actually the EASIEST part of the whole thing. Getting into a proper orbit, and then especially the Munar injection, are much harder without the map view. I had to do those parts a couple times normally, and write down the exact steps: At 10km, pitch to 40. At staging, pitch to 20. Cut throttle at 2030m/s. Coast to apoapsis. Burn to 2260m/s. Wait for Mun target marker to be at 30 below horizon. Burn prograde to 3090m/s.

Landing is easy though. Just build your lander with a really wide stance so it won't tip over if you happen to land on a slope, and watch the radar altimeter.

Didn't use any maneuver nodes, set the target prelaunch did however check my position in the map a few times, once was force of habit.

forgot my landing gear :X

Were in .17 i think, and is completely IVA to the mun and back

Here's mine I just did to the Mun and back. I used Mechjeb for the SoI, AP and PE Info as I'm not that experienced as knowing the Delta-V's ect yet, but am learning. I used Vandamonde's Moon Rocket for this, but I changed the Capsule purely for a better viewing pleasure for anyone watching it. I tried a landing approach that I've never practiced before, which got messed up within 30 seconds of the burn, but oh well lol. Landing was very smooth, and IVA is actually alot of fun, might try creating a Space Station this way! Anyways, I still need alot of improvement, but I'm happy with my results. Feel free to correct me on anything or what not.
