Fixing Rover Tires

Recommended Posts

I've read a couple of threads where people mention popping the tires on their rover, and it sounds like a terrible thing. So I thought I'd pop in and mention to anybody who is not aware: Kerbals in EVA can fix your rover tires. (However, they CANNOT re-attach them after landing far too fast. . .Not that I'd ever need to try that. . .*cough cough*).

Kerbals on EVA can do a couple of handy things I know at least that they can also repack parachutes (useful if you have a plane that can take off from the water but needs parachutes to land on it intact - or if you're just a derp like me who accidently turn on the engines while dropping with chutes )

Not exactly useful, seeing as you can do that in the craft as well, but you can do it!

It's useful if you forget to make it and your probe thing is left without power and uncontrollable(if you actually want to travel to and reactivate it)

Couple of times I also has situation when I have not deployable panels blocked by craft itself (was only at one side for example) and ran out of electricity(And lost control even of manned craft because of mods) so I eva and rotate craft by kerbal pushing to get some exposure. (It's not what this thread about but some story)

You can also extend and retract solar panels when on EVA. Not exactly useful, seeing as you can do that in the craft as well, but you can do it!

I didn't know that, very useful! I've had a few ships die because i time accelerated and forgot to extend the solar panels. Now I can pop outside and pull them out by hand! Kind of like they did on the ISS, actually :).
