Review // Build your own rocket

Kerbal Space program

From(developers): Squad

For: Windows, Linux, OSX

€21.99

4 stars

The dream is irresistible: Build your own rocket and explore space with it. Kerbal Space Program gives you a gaint box of parts and crewmembers with enthusiastic crewmembers(Kerbals) to do that. You launch probes, space stations and fuel stations for missions to the moon and other planets in the fictitious solarsystem of the kerbals to made possible. Just like the once populair old Microsoft Flight Simulator, is this game a dream come true and a school: You learn the laws of Newton, orbits and vectors. The game is not ready, you must find out what each part does. This pioneer-feeling and satisfaction is huge and when a kerbal steps out of a own build moonlander and makes a huge step for kerbalmanity...

my dutch is a bit rusty but the first title says something to the effect of "review // build your own rocket" followed by a general overview of what KSP is

and the second title something like "half a game can also be a fun game"

The first sentence means: "The dream is compelling: build your own rocket and explore space with it."

After that, the article states, that the game provides the tools for starting satellites, space stations, refuelling stations and to do missions to the moon and other planets in a fictive solar system.

And at the right it has something about a pioneer spirit, that the game transports (?) and that one may learn about Newtonian physics and orbits and that a moon landing "is a leap for kerbalkind" or some thing like that.

I do not speak dutch, but as a german I get the sense of the text quite well, I think.

I made the translation. You were pretty accurate, but if I translate german I suck at it :P

I think there is some errors in the translation...

'Je houdt rekoning met de wette van Newton ' - is probably more 'You are held accountable to the laws of Newton'

Wish-fulfilment probably better as 'dream come true' .

However I ain't Dutch, and the closest to the language I come is Afrikaans from my long stay in South Africa, so my correction is definitely not a certain thing :P

Nice article, what paper? I wanna read it myself :P

Few notes:

You control the laws of Newton and you learn about orbits and vectors.
Is a bad translation :P

It's more in the lines of

You need to pay attention to the laws of Newton

@AsnogarD: The word is reEning, not rekOning :P

Though what you typed is probably the afrikaans way of saying it

The paper is called NRC(Nieuw Rotterdams Courant).

And thanks for the tweak.
