Making a Rover/Lander design with the Mk1 Cockpit

Recommended Posts

I want to make a rover that can go really fast, and uses a Mk1 Cockpit as a pod. But I also need it to support a lander.

You see, I want both the rover and the lander to be reusable; to get back up from a planet and rendezvous with a space station in the orbit of a planet.

I've tried a design, but the lander's legs are in the way of my rover. I have to make a different lander the game will allow and will be flawless. And also won't be too big. So, could I get some help? Maybe some pictures of designs for this?

I have this "condition" where I have a very hard time to think of an idea that looks awesome and also is supported by the game engine. And when I do, it looks too... noobish. And sometimes I like to just copy off of others designs, but give them credit.

The MKI cockpit isn't the best choice for a rover. You want either an open rover, or a lander can for that job... but it's doable if you want it that much.

Check out my igaluk service lander (linked in sig), includes a downloadable craft file with a reusable rover/lander combo like you described (although it doesn't have parachutes, so it's only for non-atmospheric landings... but you could add parachutes if you want)
