What mod did you use for the place where the kerbals are. (The windows?)

Lack Luster Labs - one of the best station/vehicle/whatever else you need parts packs I've run across. I built the Dunebugs from it, I built the crew quarters from it, I built the Far Wanderer from it.

Can it turn? You mention the problem of the tracks tearing themselves off the craft or tearing the craft apart, have you been able to get around that (with moar struts, perhaps) or is it currently a forward and reverse only vehicle?

Currently, it's only forward/reverse - that's part of why I included the stable of supplementary vehicles (the other reason is that it's awesome). Apparently the author of the track mod is working on a fix.

The problem is that each pod has two separate tracks, that are hardcoded to try and run in different directions when the command to turn is given. In other words, each track tries to turn completely independently of each other track, and the half on the inside are all going in the wrong direction. The end result is progressive structural failure, because the tracks have torn off the load-bearing section and the superstructure comes crashing to the ground.

So I shouldn't try using this mod to construct one of Keith Laumer's BOLO tanks, at least not the later Marks with their multiple track systems.

With strong enough struts, you can prevent it from doing that. Alternatively, you can scale up some of the other track types.
