NitroXen Aeronautic Booster

Xenxe

Recommended Posts

This was basically a test to see if I could add parts to this game I discovered today.

This is a simple little booster I'm not too great at modelling but i made it in blender and the texture in GIMP.

NitroXen is a fictional company I made up a long time ago while playing gmod with friends. I kind of put this name on everything. I plan on making more parts with this blue line gray theme. Tell me if you like it!

Anyway Enjoy its similar to the solid booster but different. I find it is easy to get off the ground with it.

I like the tapered model, a nice and unique idea!

I also recommend smoothshading your model, it just makes it look a little bit nicer.

Hello, I am a friend of Xen's, and we've been working together on getting models in game. I have a similar problem to his, in that the model seems to lost all smoothing group data. I work with 3DS max, so I'm not sure if the exporter supports this.

He uses Blender (which I do NOT like, by the way), so I was wondering if you could tell us exatly what you mean? We're a bit new to this, so be kind please ;)

Now see, that looks like what I would accomplish by setting smoothing groups in 3DS Max, but they don't seem to be preserved when exporting.

Edit: out of curiosity, what program are you using?

I use Max, and it definitely preserves smoothing groups when exporting. I had more success with the Collada format than .obj, so maybe you could try that if you're not already using it.
