This was for a roleplay.

"The Flare Star left FTL above the planet that had been broadcasting the signal. It used its RCS to flip around so it could burn retrograde, turning an escape trajectory into a close eliptical orbit.

The Commander told the communications operator to send a narrowband television signal over the omnidirectional radio system. Hopefully, the civilisation below would know how to decode Slow Scan Television."
