A mobile cruise missile launcher for e.g. 'debris control'

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new here at KSP forums,

It's not pretty and it's probably not new either but since I found it fun to play with, I decided to show it here. :)

In the image, crafts in other pictures than the "launcher" have hade some minor adjustments done.

The .carft file can be donwloaded from box.net (URL below).

Usage in KSP:

Drive to a fire station, set throttle to 3/4 and enable SAS. Set next stage to launch. Unstable to steer while on solid rocket stage. Once solid rocket stage is left with 1/3 fuel, set next stage to warm up jet engine and finally set next stage to enter cruise/terminal stage.

Note that the terminal stage is likely unstable to steer once more than 1/5 fuel has been used. No kerbals has been used in testing of this product! :D

Thank you.

A problem with these kinds of debris controls systems is that at the end of the day they tend to create more debris than they remove ;)

Yeah, but when Space around you is getting full of bits and pieces of debris it turns in a homogene "Plastic-Fuel-Metal"-Sphere around the Planet which you can mine again :D

What is the maximum height on your cruise missile? Is it only a ground-based debris killer? (as the jet engine strongly suggests to me)

Kessler syndrome to the max!

Yes, it is only for ground-based debris. Definitely warranty void if used in space or under water. Possible to score air targets if birds are sucked into the jet engine.
