How to cheat in a flag?

Basically what has happened is that after an extremely long and eventful trip to Jool with only one crewmember, Jebediah, surviving I placed a flag but forgot to mention those brave kerbal souls lost in the plaque. I took down the flag so that I could edit the flag but the flag has dissapeared and now I have no flag to place. I was wondering if there was some way I could give Jebediah another flag to place through editing my save file.

You can put a fresh kerbal on Jool, he'll have a new flag

Check the persistence file and find him on EVA, check if he has like something like hasFlag or something similar, that's my guess.

put him back in the capsule. He'll have another flag when you EVA him again. (only works with actual capsules, not seats)

Yup, somehow the Kerbals managed to fit Millions of those Flags in their Capsule! If your Capsule destroyed itself due to your Events, then due to the fact that it's rediculous that you can't take down your Flag to Re-Plant it, then just Get a small Craft with 1 Kerbal, Unlimited Fuel, and go to Jool. Stick the Flag down and then End his Flight leaving Jeb alone waiting for a Rescue Mission or some Hookers for Entertainment!

I confirm this. It actually does work.

If you do not have a capsule and can not edit the persistence files, -to be honest- then you are f**ked.

I ended up going with Emissions idea as the capsule was destroyed thanks to everyone for helping

Since it was added...you just get so much Kraken once you get even close to the surface that actually surviving, much less doing anything, is basically impossible.

It does have a surface, actually. It's not supposed to, but it does.

Well, I think a surface is needed to have the altitude above planet.
