So, I was mucking around with another kerbal tied to an SRB.

He was plummeting to the ground, well the sea to be exact, and felt it was time to deploy the parachute. I thought it had failed, and he hit the ground, but then, this happened.

Kerbin is nowhere to be seen.

My kerbal looks horrified.

For good reason.

Not quite sure what happened, but I seem to have encountered a super acceleration bug.

First Kerbal to leave the solar system in under an hour. Sorry Dudney.

It reminds me of something in a recent Scott Manley video. He was doing gravity assists, and said something about how much extra delta v he could get from a planet if he didn't have to worry about the atmosphere, or even the lithosphere.

Maybe Dudney forgot to stop at the lithosphere....

I've had my whole universe break and require a game restart twice. Both times the kerbals I was EVAing got launched so far and fast that they ceased to exist.
