Restore a Item back from debris -- Help

Recommended Posts

I have just had this issue and it is a confusing.

I am in the middle of building a mun moon Base,

I have set 4 command sections, and 2 Solar panels sections with no issue.

Last night I sent up some linking tubes to start to link all the parts together, the first lot when up and I was able to work with them with no issue,

but today, I discovered that when I send up any other link tubes or try and connect to them, I discover that they have turned into Debris ;-(

I have send up two other link command tubes and all of them are trying out the same.

I don't like to hack the code or save file, but is there an easy way to go into the game, and resort the items in question.

I have seen this "KerbalEdit", but not being a coder, I don't want to go in to the save files and damage, weeks of hard work.

If the debris parts contain either a command pod or a probe core, you can right click it and choose rename, where you will be shown a dialogue with some icons representing probe, debris, lander, base etc. Then just choose the one you want.

If it doesn't contain one, I don't think you can do anything else than edit the save file, though.

Even IF you would use some kind of editor to change the designation from 'debris' to something like 'ship' you still wouldn't be able to do anything with it if it doesn't have a pod or core.

Regardless from the designation and the presence of a pod/core you can still dock to with it with another 'ship' as long as it has a port.

opps I forgot to say, that when I try and to it, the docking ports, just go's through each other, like there are not there.

That's a bug I also sometimes have. My solution is to undock and redock something nearby. For some reason that fixes it most of the time for me.

Thanks for your advice, but I still have the Bug, even after undocking a part of my station, and then I tried to redock, and it was not having any off it.

this is so frustrating

I might copy this into the Support Section, and see that happens.

I just tried this by changing the Value from Debris to Ship, the only thing it did was to move it to a differant list, and not resolve the issue that I am not able to dock with it.

to add to the issue, I have send up a second command pod to see if I am able to dock with this, and again, I am not. same results as before.

edit: if I leave this, would it affect the game, as in effect any other docking attempts ? And hope that this bug gets fixed in the next release?
