How to make an aircraft drogue chute

Recommended Posts

I remember back in .16 or .17 i think it was, i used to put parachutes toward the rear of aircraft and such so when i landed i could deploy the chute to help slow me down/ it looks awesome. It seems we cant continue to do that in .20, the chute just "snaps off" and the little parachute icon goes red. So, does anyone know how to make a parachute properly deploy while rolling along the runway? i don't mind editing the part file etc but please don't suggest mods because im keeping my KSP vanilla. any info is appreciated. THANKS :D

AFAIK, you won't be able to do it without a mod. The current code for parachutes makes them disappear whenever you contact the ground. Unless there is a bit of the API that you can use to disable this behaviour, someone would have to reimplement the parachute logic to get the behaviour you describe.
