new dutch design ((a two part stto))

Recommended Posts

this is my concept for a two-piece stto.

Once in orbit around kerbal the jet part decouples.

i can barely make a stable orbit with the plane, it needs more air (i am working on it)

i hope you like the plane.

toggle's.

1 toggle's the outer jet engines

2 toggle's the middel jet engine.

3 toggle the rocket engine's.

4 decouple's the plane parts

5 toggle's the ladder

here are the picture's (i have more butt imageshack is acting up)

the idea was that the rocket part fly's to another planet and when your want to land on kerbal again you put them back togetter and land and you can takeof again after refueling (i stil have to put on two extra port on top for that)

That's pretty cool!

...

I'm not actually sure if this counts as a single stage to orbit.

Do I need to decouple the jets before I fire the rockets or is it capable of reaching orbit in one piece?

it can reach orbit i one piece. the rocket engine's fire through the back of the plane.

you leaf the jet engine's in orbit and juse it to fly back (in theory)

Oh, it's fine then. Creative way to reduce mass for interplanetary burns I suppose. Good job.
