Mün lander ideas?

Hi guys!

So I'm two steps closer to my stranded in da Mün Kerbal rescue.

so Far I managed to put two gas stations in Kerbin orbit. And park a shuttle tug on one of them:

^--Gas station 2 is unused so far.

And also I made a gas station in the Mün orbit, composed by two tanks that I joined in orbit.

So now I've two questions:

First is a strange phenomenon on the Mün gas station, it rotates spontaneously. Yes, the design after join both parts is asymmetric, however there's no RCSs on, no SAS on and the bloody thing start a slow but sure rotation. Try to kill the rotation with SAS just makes the whole thing wobble scarily. I'm sure if I let it wobble it will break. So the only thing I can do to stop the rotation is warp . But once on real time again it starts the rotation again. Any ideas why this is happening?

Second.

Now I need a Mün lander with capacity for 1 or 2 kerbals, a pilot and space for the rescued kerbal. The idea is something lightweight and re-usable if possible. I plan to move the thing to the moon orbit using the tug shuttle, and refuel on the station if necessary too.

Can you give me general ideas? (I don't ask for a ready made lander, I want to play!)

Thanks in advance guys!

Probably something is clipping into another part. I have similiar issue with a satellite in polar orbit around Kerbin - as soon as i open the solar pannels, one is clipping into Communtron dish, and satellite starts rotating. I have to keep this one pannel folded all the time (which looks kinda meh).

As for rescue lander: You don't have to send kerballed craft. Put a probe on top of the Hitchhiker Module, medium Rockomax tank below, two radial decouplers, two FL - T400 fuel tanks with LV - 909 engines, some RCS, ladder, battery, couple of solar panels and of course landing legs. This setup should be more than enough to get your Kerbal back to orbit.

I use a mk2 lander can, with the smallest rockomax tank under it for a mun lander, with power provided by four of the tiny rockomax radial engines. Heavy duty legs, long ladder, probe core, and the ASAS and RCS tank on top, with some solar panels and maybe an RTG for nighttime power.

It's got a few tons of excess capacity, so you can probably pack fuel for getting off the mun as well. Personally, I've just been sticking a hitchhiker storage can on lately for a munbase, and I'm planning to drop a few small rovers in for the kerbs to ride on.

All my landings so far have been one-way, because of lack of fuel, though. Maybe you could use KAS and drop a fuel tank down on one to refill?

Hey guys!

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll make a lander and post results!

Is it true that the saved games will go boom in the next upgrade? Will the saved ships work?

Edit: About the clipping, yes the umbrella antennae is clipping with the omni directional antennae. Ill close them and see if that stops the spontaneous rotation, thanks for the tip!

My lander is 1 fat tank with legs, a MK2 lander can ontop, and 2 atomic rockets on the side.

It has a docking port at the bottom, so if needed I can use it to land modules on the surface, undock and fly the lander away
