Hey, now that the cat is out of the bag, I have the chinese copy:

http://www./download/r66ulle74ee8xm4/SSTO_Mk_XVI.craft

I'd say it is very close to the original, but I have a few more tricks like a vertical landing gear (the normal one is handled through action groups). And I can tell you by the time I have it on a Minmus transfer, I still have 2+ km/s in the tanks, so 3.8 km/s is not that much BS.

Immashift, you are missing some of the lift surfaces of the original (like a third of the wing!), which is why you had to add some others. There is a lot going on under the hood, check out mine if you want:

Note that the fins at the back are placed exactly backwards compared to the original. That was a conscious design choice after I saw how they looked.

Also note in this screenshot, delta-v is falsified by the boost engines. Adjust for isp 800s on nuke alone, and you get 2,049m/s. And that ship is on a Minmus transfer, and I had a flameout spin during launch, wasting fuel.

Rune. I call it Longsword, to avoid copyright lawsuits.

First off, @Rune - AWESOME! Much better than mine lol, I can tell just by looking at the images. You clearly spent more time on it than the ~20 min I did.

My apologies, the m/s was my misunderstanding. I thought he meant it can hit 3800m/s in atmo flight. I was like *whut*. DV is much better. Just used to seeing people read out their planes' capabilities in atmo more than anything. My fault.

I'm sure I missed one or two things. Told you mine was made in Japan lol. I compensated for that till I was satisfied though.

Good to give people options though. Hell check both of our knock-offs out and see what you like better.

@Rune - Gonna shamelessly self-promote my new thread. I love your SSTO designs, and I made an itty bitty one out of the Aeris: Forum Link

You know what this entire design reminds me of? This:
