Merging vessels and parts information

Well, hello everyone!

So, I'm new to the game, and to learn a few things about the rockets, I've been messing with the stock vessels.

My questions are:

1. How do I know the parts? Is there any indication of the part name, somewhere? It'd be really useful if the part name would appear when the mouse is over it.

2. Is there a way to merge vessels? For example, if I build a rocket and want to put a previously built rover in it, how could I do it? Would I have to build it again?

1. You can do that in-flight by right clicking the part.

2. There's a mod called Subassembly Manager that does exactly that.
