zekes Posted October 10, 2013 Share Posted October 10, 2013 thanks... just try not to turn it into a giant porcupine thing with missiles sticking out at odd angles that and you can also play around with adding/taking away "layers or armor(just not the very last one)Im jsut worried on a ship you'd have to build each peice to shape or it wouldn't fit right, i mean there would be holes. I can fit 6 Light Attack Missiles in place of 2 Helios Bolts, which would triple my weapon count while reducing complexity and weight. I cant do it now, but In a few hours i will. I don't want to give EVERYONE my secret armor plating...I think I get how they work-Backbone made from trusses where panels point out at a 90 degree angle When you add the plating.Essentially you're replacing what would be low impact fuel tanks with High impact Structural pieces improving resilleince but again reducing D/V and increasing mass.
