New button in editor

I have noticed that clicking New in the editor doesn't just remove the whole ship, but instead it deletes the editor from the memory and then loads everything again and displays it, which takes more time than just dragging the ship to the left (which is instantaneous). But sometimes I click on the New button and it takes a few seconds to reload the editor.

I agree. It seems like the program could just delete all the parts and reset the name of the vessel instead of reloading everything.
