R.I.P. Apollo 1, crew of two of NASA's most game-changing astronauts Ed White, Gus Grissom, and rookie Roger Chaffee.

Ed White completed america's very first spacewalk (there's some great footage of it) and Gus was NASA's most experienced astronaut up until that point, going in both the Mercury capsules and flying the Gemini pods as well.

Best time to live, assuming you weren't anything other than a heterosexual middle or upper class white male. Most other people, a little less pleasant. (Just saying.)
