Symmetry docking, docking ports and gold.

I love KSP, but here are the things I would love to see added in the upcoming builds that I don't think I see in the wiki for development.

Docking ports: 2 Major flaws that I see in docking ports are;

1: Lining up your space station if you dock multiple modules can be a pain in the a**, I don't know but would hope, that Unity can offer a similar symmetry to that in the VAB in space, so that provided you were *roughly* correctly aligned you would end up docked in some sort of 4/8 way symmetrical pattern, which would be relevant to the direction you placed the docking port in...

2: I LOVE the shielded docking port, I HATE trying to use it. Why? Because I can't open it in the VAB, and I can't connect anything to the top of it, I really really wish we could have an "open" version of this, even if it's technichally a totally separate part rather than being able to open the single part.

Gold.

I adore the shiny shiny textures of the toroidal fuel tank and the com dish. I just wish there were more parts with them.

Actually, I might do a quick config file edit of the Shielded Clamp-o-tron using my recompiled animation handler (based on Snjo's Firespitter code), that will allow you to toggle the docking port within the VAB.

I'll try getting it out to you tomorrow or the day after.

would it be able to toggle with the animation and add the build-on node in the VAB/SPH?

Adding a node would be fairly simple, just putting the node definition in the config and telling the docking module to use that as the reference node.

Perhaps this port should just appear in its "open" state in the VAB, just like the ladders always appear unfolded until you actually go to launch.
