Kerbinauts will not want to be strapped in their seats for a year or two. Please ...

you mean like knowing that every drop of water you drink most likely was at some point in history already pee?

That, and assuming they are multicellular organisms like we are, there will be hundreds of thousands of skin cells falling off them, every single day. These mix with the air and, well, you know what will happen.. It's not nice. That is what I meant by "breathing each other".

Please do not apply human psychology to Kerbals. They are aliens and thus their needs may be very different from those of ours.

I, for one, am certain that, after watching the videos, that Kerbals simply pile up in hugh piles whenever they are relaxing, resting or sleeping (Yes there are huge piles of Kerbals all around Kerbin and the KSC simply lying on top of each other. Occasionally one squeezes out and another joins the pile).

The strut, in fact was an invention to counter the most common complaint at the KSC: The Pods are two big and no one can pile up. More struts fix this problem and soon the solution was applied to other problems, like boosters!

Could be true...(and is in my game)

Nice Idea Gus,

but there is one mayor flaw in your theory.

Kerbals have evolved in a very different way than humans.

Because there are no femal Kerbals, i would prosume that they have no gender at all and reproduce themselve by mitosis.

If you keep that in mind, then you will understand that they have no problem with a smelly Kerbal next to them, because it is more or less the same stench than they would produce. :D

You win thousands of internets.

Is all the pressurized space on the ISS considered "living space"?

Well, yes, in the sense that you don't immediately die.
