'Cargo hold' parts and kerbals picking up stuff.

Here is an idea, add a 'cargo hold' part to the VAB and SPH and give kerbals the ability to pickup small parts, like the 'OX-STAT Photovoltaic Panels'

This 'cargo hold' could be used to put small crafts in, or parts and other things to leave on the surface of a planet. you could use it to bring a rover with you, like in the real moon missions. stick random bits of junk in there too, like probe cores and solar panels, and move them around to make a landing site look more like a landing site. some extra things in the 'science' tab wouldn't go amiss ether, like these things.

I think these could help make landing on other planets feel more rewarding.

IIRC, there was one of these being worked on. I'd like to be able to put batteries and stuff in there, to reduce part count and stuff.

Look up 'laser ranging retroreflector'. It's basically a fancy tape measure

I would think that this is planned and will be implemented around the same time that they implement more IVA/EVA features. But I agree, I can't wait to be able to connect, repair, place or just move things around with my kerbonauts
