iDan122
Hey guys, As KSP is being developed, it has been expanding more and more. But now, it is almost at the border of its poor Unity engine. This needs a change. You cannot keep a pine tree in a pot forever, it needs to expand its roots. So does KSP.So let's make ourselves heard and convince the developers to change the game engine! This might cost us the time required for a new update, but we will get a fresh new engine, a faster one.So choose now!
Mr. Scruffy
No, i am not gonna vote for having them start all over at this point. Not only because i wouldnt want to wait that long (presuming the project would even survive the incured lag in the developement process), but also because i feel sympathy for the devs and wouldnt want to put them through the frustration.EDIT: I bought the game on this engine ; cant expect them to port it to another. Not for the money i gave, anyways. I can only guess that the effort would be so much as to warrant a whole new funding process. So the question would be: ´Are you willing to pay the price once again and wait half a year (wild guesstimate, could be more, could be less) extra for the portation, or would you rather hope for optimization of the game and the engine (the later being out of the devs hands) and keep things going as is?´I´d go for the later. Umlüx
you are suggesting a complete engine port? 3 words: this is madness.(would be awesome anyways.. imagine a KSP utilizing all your cpu cores and system memory.. hello 2000 part builds!) Cykyrios
A petition won't change anything, I'm afraid. There are a few reasons Unity has been chosen: it supports C#, it is cheaper than other engines and it still allows KSP to run You have to understand that changing the engine would also require the dev team to code the entire game again, from scratch. So you basically have two options: either you want the game to be worked on, or you're ready to wait a loooong time to get it back to where it is today...Short answer: not happening, and a petition won't change that.
