Do Lost crew respawn?

I have not lost any of my crew till today when I tried to make a shuttle/spaceplane. It flipped while taking off SO FAST I could not end the flight before it exploded. Do they respawn or are they on the lost list FOREVER?

Be default, crew respawns after a while. You can enable permadeath in your settings.cfg

Er...The only way to stop a flight when it's moving or the engines are firing is to "Revert flight" back to launch or the VAB/SPH. This option is available at all times, even when the rocket is smashed to pieces; if you got the "Catastrophic failure" window up just hit close then esc > revert flight and choose which one. You didn't need to lose any Kerbals.

Anyway, they'll come back eventually.

Kerbals respawn after a while with the default settings. You will notice that they are listed as "Missing in Action" (MIA) instead of Dead on the Lost list. If you change the settings.cfg, then they will be dead forever.

It's actually in Persistent.sfs , the only option listed in the "Difficulty Options" or somesuch section. I think it's labeled something like 'Enable Lost Crew Respawn' or something.
