But alas, since I can not maximize the screen of KSP, and lack a number pad... I have to either hit a button, which I can not hit due to my toolbar (which I can't rid myself of, either) or hit a period which doesn't exist, either. Not looking good. thanks. [i guess a question I'm asking has not been answered yet. ]

What is the question?

I'm guessing a laptop with a basic keyboard. You use the period on the keyboard to accelerate time and the comma to slow down, or just click the mouse directly on the warp speed icon. Otherwise, use the standard translation keys for FPS shooter to steer your rocket while under powered flight into its gravity turn.

If you didn't hit the full screen button in preferences before going to the max display screen for your laptop, you will have issues with display.

Oh I see. I've had this problem, where the windowed mode of KSP prevents you from maximising the game, since the taskbar at the bottom covers up the 'Accept' button. There are three possible fixes, all of which I've used in the past: (I'm assuming you're running Windows)

One: change your desktop orientation so that everything's flipped horizontal (under 'Screen Resolution' when you right click on the desktop). Then go to your KSP window and maneuver the mouse somehow to click the 'Accept' button, and after 15 seconds of flipped screen it should revert to normal.

Two: Go into the KSP directory, and open up 'settings.cfg' in NotePad. Scroll down until you see 'FULLSCREEN = False'. Change that to 'FULLSCREEN = True' (case is important!). When you next open up KSP, the game will be in fullscreen mode.

Three: Check 'Auto-Hide the taskbar' under Taskbar Properties (right-click on the taskbar). This will cause it to disappear, allowing you to click the 'Accept' button.

I hope these help!
