Can we load things from the spaceplane hangar into the VAB?

Yes, all you have to do is go into the game's saves file and open your save folder. Inside will be the VAB and

the SPH ship saves. Take the ship you want from the SPH folder and drag it into the VAB folder.

Editor Extensions, if you are not against using mods. All it does is add a bunch of tools while creating ships(like what you need here: TAB switches between symmetry modes of VAB and SPH). Basically more symmetry options, ability to place anything attached radially(toggled option, so you can simply disable it when not needed). Very handy mod :)

If you do this I would also recommend opening up the file and changing the TYPE = to the appropriate location (eg TYPE = VAB)otherwise the revert to option will take you back to the original building.

However, edition extensions is a great solution as well since it gives you other functionality as well.

Understand, however, that if you revert the flight back to add MOAR struts or whatever, it will go to the SPH instead of the VAB. There's probably a simple edit you can do to the craft file to fix this but I've never bothered. Just leave the SPH, go to the VAB, and the ship should still be standing there ready to edit. If not, load its file.
