Adding images to post's

Ok I'm a complete newbie at this forum so don't shout at me! I have been wanting to add screenshots of my KSP shenanigans to several community discussions and I have come across a problem, I don't know how to add images. Ok slight lie there I do but only via URL. I have seen on posts actual image's and also only URL's, and was wondering does using the "Insert Image" button add the image or just post the URL? If it only add's the URL how do I add an actual image??

You need to upload the image to a image hosting website, for example Imgur. If you use imgur you then need to click the image and get the BB code. Then paste that into the post you want to make. To embed ingur albums then go Here!

Ah makes sense now. I'll make sure to use this knowledge to make pages look pretty with explosions!
