[BUG 914631] Ubuntu Not Getting All Details

So just recently I installed Ubuntu, and first of all it require me to run Ubuntu installer inside Windows 7 to install.

When I finally installed Ubuntu 12.04 to my computer, I messed around for a while, then decided to look at the detail.

As it turns out, I have 3.7GB of usable RAM, 0.32GB more than what I have in Windows 7. (Both OS has 4GB of total (shared?) RAM, 64-Bit Ubuntu is just more efficient than its 32-Bit counterpart.) 0.08GB less than what I have in Windows 7 now. I've reinstalled Windows 7 with a 64-Bits version and a legal product key to activate it.

However, noticing the graphics is Unknown, I was confused. I mean, I have Intel HD Graphics installed (inside the CPU), and in Windows the GPU is known. I wonder, is there anyway to make Ubuntu realize that the Unknown GPU is not so "unknown" at all?

EDIT: After some web surfing, it turned out to be bug 914631. I wonder if the package I'm downloading is a fix or a workaround.

EDIT 2: Yup it worked. Though I'm surprised that it showed Intel Ironlake Mobile. I guess my GPU belongs to that group.

I'm not sure why 12.04 doesn't include that feature, but I have no qualms with it. I know I have an Asus GeForce 8400 GS from around 2010, and if Ubuntu doesn't know that but still performs admirably I'm fine with it. Good to have this resource though, thanks. :)

And I too enjoy the decreased overhead, it makes everything run smoother than the old family laptop I was using.
