Armstrong 11--An Apollo-ish Mission [IMAGE HEAVY]

So, I made a new save (don't worry, the old one is still there!) and decided to land on the Mun. Now, this being my 11th mission to the Mun since the start of my 0.20 save (from it's viewpoint, of course), I decided to make my own little honor to Neil, Buzz and Michael. And so, here it is: Armstrong 11!

Ignore the fact that it doesn't remotely look or work like a Saturn V, I'm not at that skill level yet!

Burning for the Mun. Am I the only one who still uses the Munrise trick?

"What do I stand for? What do I stand for?"

"Jeb, if you don't stop singing that song, I'm going to punch you."

"Aw..."

Burning into orbit around the Mun.

Bill and Bob played rock-paper-scissors to see who would get to walk on the surface of the Mun. Bill won by playing an SRB.

No pics are availble of the crew transfer or undocking, sadly, but at least I was smart enough to record the landing sequence...

"KSC, the Beagle has landed."

"That's one small step for a kerbal, one giant leap for kerbalkind."

"Wow, Jeb. That's pretty awesome."

"Thank you."

This is actually Bill, but tradition dictates that this picture will forever be mistaken for Jebediah.

"Bill, stop goofing off with clipping."

"Right..."

They totally bumped into each other by accident and weren't just messing around. Totally.

After this, they got back in the lander. Tomorrow: the return to Kerbin!

And now--I return home, without exploding!

The launch back into Mun orbit.

Murphy's law dictates that I must dock on the night side... again...

Splashed down--mission accomplished!

And there you have it--my first successful Apollo-style Mun mission. This mission was so successful that I might use it as my modus operandi of Mun missions from now on!

Well, I think it's nice - it would need a little more text and better choosen pictures. Stuff like the mostly black murphys-law picture or several pictures of Kerbals are just not very entertaining.

Also: Starting with the lander attached to the top of the rocket is simply not right

Thanks for the advice! And yes, I am a bit ashamed to do an Apollo mission with the lander on top of the rocket at launch.
