Is anyone ever going to update the ISA Mapsat plugin for .21?

When you say less resolution, does that mean the scan lines will not be dense or the resulting PNG will be small? Because I've seen what the high orbit does. Scanning is slow and inefficient, you can't time warp fast enough. So far, all my maps came out small, no matter what height I was on.

The resolution of the scan is, at any one time, fixed. Your orbital altitude determines how that scan is applied to the planet below...at high altitudes, the scan lines will be far apart, creating gaps and other artifacts on the map. At low altitudes, you may move over the surface too much between scans, and also cause artifacts. The same applies to time-warping. However, you can go into the Mapsat settings to change your resolution...this allows you to get a high-quality image even at high orbit or high time.

General rule: get into the lowest orbit you can with the highest amount of unique crossings of the equator. Someone calculated many of these a while back. Adjust your resolution so the scan turns out nice at warp, and you're in business.

No! A license is permission by the copyright holder to do things which, ordinarily, he has the exclusive right to. No license means he reserves these rights solely for himself. With no license, you can only do what the law considers "fair use".

I find it silly that a modder remotely consider suing someone over something they have no financial stake and already provide free to the public especially if the person who decides to take their software, and merely update it, give credit to the original author, and don't seek monetary gain in the process.

I do think mods should generally have a liberal license, but hey, the law shouldn't force people to act just the way you want them to. :P And I can't imagine a modder suing anyone, even if the law is on their side; on the forums we basically work on a system of respect for the modders' wishes.
