Solid Rocket Flue Tanks

Recommended Posts

You can't really add solid fuel tanks to a booster. Solid fuel works like a bottle rocket- propellant packed into a tube, not a lot more to it.

Now maybe a MODULAR booster somehow, but I'm not sure how that'd work out.

(Also hint: don't capitalize the first letter of every word, you may catch some flak for it.)

There've been some pretty intense discussions about solid rockets, actually. Apparently(and I'm no expert here), if you add more fuel to the top of a solid rocket booster, it increases the thrust, but not the thrust time. If you increase the diameter, however, THAT increases thrust time. The reason is because solid fuel burns all the way up the booster, like a flaming tube in the middle. It burns outward so wider tanks=more burn time and taller tanks=more thrust.

Also, why would you capitalize every word? I've seen people do that and never understand why. Just boggles my mind.
