[Showcase] First Time Rocketeers!!!

The Challenge:

Get someone totally unfamiliar with KSP to play it and take screenshots/video of their exploits and accomplishments.

This is my friend's build from yesterday. A first time player, totally without coaching except in navigating the build editor and controls, this is what he came up with. After a few flights he says, "Hmm, it looks like I won't get it to space. I'm gonna land on that building..." Much to my envy, he did!

He managed to pop the chutes above the SPH and land on the curved skylight, slide down, flip, and balance on the edge. He said he foresaw many-a-lunchbreak going to Kerbal.

After that he and his brother (with coaching) built a LKO orbiter and got it to something resembing circular orbit. They then took a modified Nomad-T1-0 on a direct Sun dive. I think they're both hooked.

This was something I built on day one with the demo.

The idea was serial staging without the added weight of extra engines. Try as I might, I have never been able to replicate it since.

EDIT: surprisingly enough, this thing could actually make orbit. I have never been able to re-create anything like it that has worked.

Great pics! Now you just have to show someone else and take pics. I assure you, it is hilarious to watch. Just don't laugh *at* them.

I did something similar with the orange tanks and mainsails in 18.0. It looked like a giant sturgeon with all the canards I stuck on to try and control it. I don't think it ever went to space.
