Would anyone want this- different terrain types?

So, I realise this might be a royal pain to code, but I'm curious. Most planets have more than one type of soil/sand/dirt/rock/whatnot. Would anyone want to see say, areas on certain planets with sandy terrain that make it easier to do an impact landing, but more difficult to stay upright, etc? For added difficulty?

I'm just genuinely curious, is all.

I'd be okay with that, so long as they had wider padfoot kind of landing legs so you could still have a stable landing. I doubt they'd bother with it, though. Maybe. I guess I don't really know XD

I'd be more interested in collecting different samples from various sites on a planet and doing science there then later mining different resources there

It would definitely be interesting, but I think it would have to be in conjunction with more options in terms of wheels and landing legs. Just look at the variety people thought up when designing lunar rovers! Before we really had a good idea of what the surface was like, it was one of the major design problems.

This would be a good idea especially for my suggestion for kerbals with skills like geology, so that there are different resources in different terrain types, and that Im justified in adding a "rock/soil type" aesthetic feature.

I vote more friction on places with less gravity so that rovers would be slightly less hellish.

Different surface properties would be quite interesting. Right now it's hard/wet flat/sloped yes?
