Actual Uses For Scientific Equipment

Recommended Posts

Ever since .18 (was it .18?), when the scientific equipment came out, I spent about five or six days trying to figure out what they did but I later found out, to my dismay, that they did diddly squat. So I was thinking, you could actually use scientific equipment for the UI stuff, like the accelerometer could be used to figure out the g-force and the speed and the thermometer could be used to detect if an engine or SRB is overheating. The Gravioli detector could be used to figure out the altitude, the antennae could be used to get better reception of probe GUIs, such as the more antennas you have, the less the GUI glitches out and the barometer we treat like Vall, all these scientific equipment are yours, except the Barometer, attempt no usage of it on your craft.

What leax said. It's gonna be good :o

Can't wait~

Oh, he just linked to KSP weekly XD

Harvester made some compelling posts in um...I think the tech tree thread in general discussion(looking for those posts as I type this):

It's going to be amazing, though I wouldn't expect there to be that many new science parts just yet in the .22 update. Even if they do add a bunch, I would absolutely expect them to add more later on @.,@

Here are some of HarvesteR's posts about science / the tech tree:

Since this is almost definitely coming in the next update, it may be a good idea to switch this to a discussion instead of a suggestion.
