ASAS Parts

Recommended Posts

Are ASAS parts embedded in other components now?

No.

I only see 1 ASAS part in the VAB and its to big for a lot of my rockets.

Your game installation might be something wrong, just reinstall it. (Remember to backup you file.)

After a fresh install, try build something fresh and checkout the ASAS components.

Yes, ASAS is built into all command pods, except for seats. You really don't need ASAS parts, only reaction wheels, which provide torque.

It is however rather unclear what the "SAS" module does now, how is it different from the reaction wheel module? And then the only large diameter module is called "ASAS". Is there an official page/forum post/anything somewhere that would explain these things?

All of those parts are redundant/useless now since command pods have SAS functionality built in. The only useful parts in the control tab are the reaction wheels and thrusters.

Actually, there is one use of those parts. if you only equip a ship with the pilot chair and no other command pod you may need a separate SAS/ASAS units. They should just add it to the pilot chair and be done with it.

SAS and large ASAS do provide reaction wheel torque, just like the Reaction wheel module, right?
