Getting this into orbit

Recommended Posts

Now I'm making a lander to go to duna and at first I was going to send up two ships and have them dock in orbit. But since the transfer stage is quite small it would be almost pointless doing that. So I am trying to get this into orbit but the top fuel tanks on the first stage sometimes "break":huh: and leave me spinning out of control. Since their on top of each other its impossible to add struts in between them. Any ideas? Suggestions? :)

Well maybe use imgur to snap a picture for us, as it is kinda unclear how are you building things.

But I do strut things even if they are connected trough a docking port. And you can add struts between 2 same tanks.

You can hit f1 to take a screenshot ingame. The screenshot will be put in your KSP folder, where you can pick it up and upload it to a site like imgur.com. You can then embed the photo in the forums using the [ IMG ]<imgur URL of your picture>[ /IMG ] tags, but without the spaces.

Alternatively, you can use the [ imgur ]<imgur album URL>[ /imgur ] tags to embed an album of imgur pictures on the forums.

When I first ran into problems connecting 2 stacked stages with struts (very finicky proposition), I figured out the easy workaround is to slap a winglet on one of the stages and run the strut from the side or tip of winglet to the next stage. After a dozen test flights with various stacks, I haven't noticed any aerodynamic or structural issues with that...
